This isn’t getting any easier.
And though you were my first time
A new feel
It won’t ever get old, not in my soul
Not in my spirit, keep it alive
We’ll go down this road
‘Til it turns from color to black and white.
No, it wasn’t something from a textbook, a powerpoint, or a lecture. In my creative writing class, every paper that we write we have to read to the class. My objective this semester was to avoid a public speaking class, turns out my attempt to do so backfired on me. Anyway, the second paper, yes second paper & its only the first week of classes, we had to tell a story of something that happened in our lives. After hearing all of the stories, my eyes really opened. I mean, I know i shouldn’t judge people until I’ve walked in their shoes, but realistically, everyone judges. Whether you mean to or not, whether you speak of it or just judge someone in your head, everyone has done or still does it. But after hearing these stories, I really need to watch myself and what I think of others before I get to know them. Little did I know that someone sitting right across from me was abandoned by her mother on her own birthday 15 years ago. Thinking about that story is still giving me chills.
